Let's breakout!

Did you know that people report feeling happier when they are outside in nature? I sure am, and I bet you are too! We sure don't need expensive research studies and books to prove this to us, but if you're interested, you can check out the "We Are Wired To Be Outside" National Geographical article based on Florence Williams' book The Nature Fix: Why Nature Makes Us Happier, Healthier and More Creative.

Breakthrough Breakouts are mini wellness adventures. These recreational outings take place in Central Kentucky and are customized to your fitness level and skill. Whether you want to hike, bike or kayak, you'll have the opportunity to get out in nature, take a deep breath (actually, many deep breaths!), remember what's important to you, and activate your sense of adventure. Breakthrough Wellness has designed these breakouts to spark joy, to provide renewal for your body, mind and soul, and to provide support right where you are on your wellness journey. You can think of your Breakthrough Breakout as meeting with your wellness coach while on the move!

Book now and schedule at your convenience. If you're booking as a gift (great idea!), just select a day/time you think is best. The recipient will be able to move the session to a time that's best, as needed.

Note: The hiking breakout is available year-round. Biking and kayaking breakouts are only available May 15 - October 31.

Accordingly, all Breakouts take place locally and involve limited travel by personal vehicle.

Biking

  • 2 hours of biking

  • Location is the Legacy Trail

  • Bring your own bike & helmet

  • Transportation of your bike can be arranged, if needed

  • Available May 15 - Oct 31

Paddle some flat water!

Kayaking

  • 1.5-2 hours on the water

  • Location is the Kentucky River palisades at Highbridge (Jessamine County)

  • Boat ramp fees included

  • All equipment included (kayak, paddle, foot pedal, personal flotation device, and dry sack)

  • Instruction provided for beginners

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs to assist with unloading/loading of kayaks

  • Bring your own fishing gear, if desired

  • Available May 15 - Oct 31
